As a GDT churchgoer, it's not uncommon to find yourself on the receiving end of a deacon’s attention—whether they pull you aside during a church service, unexpectedly appear at your doorstep, or persistently blow up your phone. These encounters often bring with them a sense of unease, as they usually indicate that you, or someone you are close too, is either in trouble or under suspicion. The deacon’s purpose in these situations typically falls into one of two categories: to confront and correct behavior they perceive as wrong or to probe for information, often seeking "dirt" on another person within the congregation.
These interactions with deacons are far from the typical ministerial counseling one might expect in a church setting. Instead, they can feel more like interrogations or moral assessments, with the goal of maintaining the strict rules of Isaac Noriega within the church. The line between spiritual guidance and invasive scrutiny can sometimes blur, leading to mistrust, fear and anxiety among church members, in particular the youth.
In this article, we will explore the mechanics of these private meetings, examining their underlying purposes and how they differ from more conventional counseling practices. We will also analyze newly submitted audio recordings of previous meetings, providing insight into the methods and motives behind these encounters.

Role of Deacons According To The Bible
In a healthy church, as envisioned in the early Acts church, the role of a deacon is profoundly rooted in biblical scripture, particularly in passages like Acts 6:1-7 and 1 Timothy 3:8-13. Deacons were intended to serve with humility and dedication, addressing the practical needs of the congregation so that apostles and elders could focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word. They were to be men of good repute, full of the Spirit and wisdom, and committed to faith and integrity. Importantly, the church is supposed to select or vote a deacon in, ensuring that they meet these biblical qualifications. In the original Acts church, deacons exemplified Christ’s servant leadership by administering charitable activities, caring for the sick, and supporting the church's logistical functions, all while fostering unity and love within the body of Christ. This is how it was meant to be, reflecting the true spirit of service and community.
The Role of Deacons at GDT
However, the role of deacons at GDT differs significantly from that in conventional churches. While they once performed traditional duties such as helping the needy and attending to the sick, recently, they have largely stepped away from these responsibilities. Instead, their involvement in supporting church functions is limited to roles such as greeters, ushers, and coordinating logistics for events and meetings.
What truly sets them apart, however, is a special role Pastor Isaac Noriega has assigned to them. In addition to their reduced traditional duties, the deacons at GDT serve as the church's enforcers—literally referred to by Pastor Isaac as the "church police."
In this capacity, deacons are extensively used as Pastor Isaac Noriega's messengers, intermediaries, investigators, interrogators, and enforcers. Their primary function is to ensure that church members strictly adhere to church rules and expected behaviors. This added responsibility has significantly shifted the traditional role of deacons, creating a dynamic where they wield considerable power within the church community.
Another important point is that recently, no elections have been held for selecting deacons. Instead, all deacons have been personally chosen by Isaac Noriega, even when some do not meet the biblical qualifications for the role. This lack of accountability and the centralized appointment process has led to a situation where many deacons experience a "power trip," becoming power-hungry as a result of their unchecked authority.
As an example, Reymundo Aguirre's nephew, Rene Aguirre Jr., was nominated for church deacon by Isaac Noriega. We have numerous reports of Rene being known for having a questionable testimony, gossiping and making fun of fellow church brethren (constituting of gossiping and "chit chat", which is supposedly looked down upon by the GDT ministry). Given that this does not meet the biblical requirements for a deacon (must not be double tongued according to 1 Timothy 3:8-13), someone brought up his questionable testimony to Pastor Isaac Noriega as a genuine concern. Isaac responded with anger, that he was being questioned and said the young man questioning his selection had no place to be questioning him. The reality is that Isaac Noriega wants yes men, not competent deacons in accordance with scripture.
We will explore the tactics they use in further detail below.
GDT Ministry Confidentiality
As mentioned in our previous Pastoral Counseling article, confidentiality places a duty on clergy not to disclose information shared with them in private. Confidentiality is also the ethical and often legal responsibility to safeguard congregation members from unauthorized disclosures of information given in the context of a confidential church leader-parishioner relationship.
In one recording that was provided to us, we hear Pastor Isaac Noriega assuring the congregant that he will keep their meeting details confidential.
"You don’t have to worry about me saying anything."
The stark reality is that Isaac and his ministry team do not adhere to confidentiality principles. The audio recordings shared in this article provide irrefutable evidence that this ministry routinely uses private information, shared in confidence, as examples and cautionary tales in other meetings or to confront individuals. For those who confide deeply personal information, it is devastating to have their trust betrayed and their secrets spread throughout the congregation.
An unfortunate side effect of these meetings is that individuals often leave with more information about others than they had when they arrived, leading to widespread gossip and mistrust. This practice has become a significant source of conflict within the church, eroding the sense of community and safety that should exist within a faith-based organization. The recordings included in this article serve as direct proof of this alarming and unethical behavior.
GDT Ministry Tactics
We were provided with multiple recordings of private meetings with GDT ministry leadership from current and former members. Due to their sensitive nature, we cannot share all of them, but these recordings offer undeniable proof of the various tactics employed by GDT ministry leadership to achieve their desired outcomes. The recordings reveal a significant number of psychological tactics used to control, gaslight, and pressure individuals into compliance. These manipulative strategies are particularly targeted at the church's youth, but the leadership does not hesitate to apply them to more senior members as well. This evidence underscores the concerning methods used by the ministry to maintain control and enforce conformity within the congregation.
Here is a partial list of tactics GDT ministry leadership uses:
The GDT ministry leadership, including elders, deacons, trustees, and others, has a well-documented aversion to criticism. Even when the criticism is valid, they perceive it as an attack on their ministry and react aggressively. They frequently use phrases like "Disrespects the ministry," "Doesn't respect Brother Isaac's ministry," "Talks all that junk," or "Has a really bad spirit" to discredit and demean anyone who dares to speak out. This is a deliberate, authoritarian tactic designed to silence dissent and undermine the character of those who voice concerns.
One of the methods they employ to maintain control is pulling aside church members for confrontations and interrogations. These meetings can take various forms, ranging from one-on-one confrontations to multiple deacons meeting with an individual. Depending on the situation, different approaches are used:
- Inspection of Church School Children: Former female students have recounted incidents where they were pulled aside by GDT School Principal Rey Aguirre and asked to remove their shoes to check for nail polish, an attempt to catch them violating minor rules.
- Coercion to Corroborate Alleged Rule Violations: Church members may be pressured to report on others' supposed "misdeeds," no matter how trivial. This behavior is praised and encouraged, fostering a culture of surveillance and mistrust.
- Interrogation About Personal Life: Individuals may be confronted about their personal lives if they are accused of violating church rules, criticizing the ministry, or associating with someone who is blacklisted or considered to have a "bad spirit."
- Monitoring of Fellowship: Congregants are often interrogated about who they associate with, followed by warnings to avoid particular individuals—even if those individuals are part of the church assembly.
- Involvement of Parents: Even congregants in their 20-30s are not immune from having their parents involved. This tactic is used to shame them or force them into compliance, treating them as children rather than adults.
- Home Confrontations: Multiple deacons may show up unannounced at a member’s home to confront them for "living in sin," missing church, or violating another church rule.
- Coercion and Fear Tactics in Private Meetings: During these confrontations, leaders often manipulate and apply pressure by invoking Isaac's authority, sometimes even name-dropping the "pillar of fire" to add significance to the meeting. They may claim that Isaac himself asked them to speak to the individual, adding further weight to their demands.
- Appeal to Higher Authority: In some cases, leaders will threaten to inform Isaac about the situation or claim that "Brother Isaac is very worried about you" to exert additional pressure.
- Division and Entrapment: The leadership frequently sows division within the congregation, which is unbiblical, by pitting members against each other and setting traps to catch them in supposed wrongdoing.
- Divulgence of Confidential Information: In their efforts to manipulate members, leaders may divulge confidential information about others, betraying trust and using this information to their advantage.
- Character Assassination: The leadership is known for disrespecting others through character assassination, often based solely on hearsay. Entire reputations can be destroyed based on unsubstantiated rumors and accusations.
These tactics create a climate of fear and control within the church, undermining the very principles of compassion, confidentiality, and respect that should guide a spiritual community.
Audio Recording Examples
As a damning example, below is an audio recording that demonstrates several of these tactics in action. In this recording, a young man (whom we will call Ted) and his father are pulled aside at church by Deacon/Elders Reymundo (Rey) Aguirre and Steve Lopez and taken to a private room. The deacons proceed to question Ted and his father to determine whether Ted has been in contact with another young congregant (whom we will call Bob), who is reportedly rebelling against the GDT ministry.
During the conversation, the deacons warn Ted to stay away from Bob, claiming that Bob has a "really bad spirit"—an instance of character assassination designed to instill fear and distance Ted from his friend. They further pressure Ted by invoking Isaac Noriega's authority, claiming that "Brother Isaac is very worried about you" and that he specifically asked them to speak to Ted, thereby appealing to authority to manipulate his behavior.
To reinforce their warnings, Rey and Steve present text messages exchanged between Bob and another young man (whom we will call Fred). These messages were obtained through entrapment: Fred’s father, acting on behalf of the GDT ministry, collected the messages from his son, printed them out, and provided them to the deacons. This calculated move illustrates the lengths to which the ministry leadership will go to control and monitor the congregation, using tactics that violate trust and confidentiality.
Despite the unethical manner in which these text messages were collected, Deacon/Elders Reymundo (Rey) Aguirre and Steve Lopez further violated parishioner confidentiality by reading these extremely personal messages aloud in front of Ted and his father. Their intent was to accuse Bob of spreading negative influences and criticizing the ministry. Notably, at timestamp 3:36 in the recording, Rey Aguirre reads a curse word from one of the text messages—an act he later denied, despite the clear evidence in the recording. We also have a subsequent recording of him denying it, which we share below.
During the meeting, Rey and Steve explain that they previously confronted Bob and his father. Despite their questioning, Bob refused to disclose details about his contacts and interactions, showing distrust and resistance to the ministry. While reading these private texts, the deacons specifically mention individuals connected through smartphones, apps, and other means, as well as activities such as watching movies, which are forbidden by the church.
The deacons express grave concerns about the supposed dangerous influence of these contacts, particularly due to their disregard for ministry guidance and their penchant for breaking church rules, like watching movies and discussing girls. They attempt to instill fear in Ted, warning him to stay away from these "negative influences" to maintain his spiritual integrity and avoid being "contaminated" by their "destructive" behaviors. The deacons claim they are protecting Ted from harmful associations and strongly encourage him to adhere to and submit to the church ministry.
The recording speaks volumes on its own, but we want to highlight a key observation: the young men involved in this situation were both legally adults. Yet, the deacons insisted on involving their fathers and treated them like children. This approach is clearly demeaning to the young men and appears to be a deliberate tactic to undermine their autonomy. Additionally, it serves as an appeal to authority, using the fathers as leverage to pressure the young men into complying with the ministry's demands.
Regardless of whether the deacons' concerns about Bob's actions were valid, they could have handled the situation in a completely different and ethical manner. Instead, they chose to use intimidation, manipulation, and public humiliation as tools to enforce their authority.
Another crucial observation is that Reymundo Aguirre clearly used a curse word in the recording at timestamp 3:36. When confronted about this later, he repeatedly denied it, claiming that he said "bed magic" instead, as captured in the subsequent recording we share below. Rey has a tendency to conveniently forget things when it suits him and offers blanket apologies to absolve himself of all perceived guilt—apologies that are rarely extended to those being interrogated. This selective memory and easy absolution are not afforded to the individuals on the receiving end of the ministry's scrutiny.
Another extremely petty example involves Deacon/Elder Salvador Zepeda, who interrogated a former member when they were just a teenager because he discovered that a father was performing innocent magic tricks during a family night—simple sleight of hand and coin tricks. Salvador, gravely concerned that this was witchcraft, proceeded to interrogate the young boy without the parent's consent. He then escalated the situation, turning a harmless activity into a witchcraft allegation, ultimately getting the father in trouble.
Additionally, we've heard numerous stories from current members about a particular deacon, Nathaniel Zuniga, who plays the piano during church services and vigilantly watches over the congregation for any type of infraction. This could be something as minor as someone not turning the pages in their Bible fast enough, clearly not following Pastor Isaac, smiling too much during the service (which is deemed irreverent), or looking at the section where the opposite sex sits during church services—leading to accusations of having an "obvious sexual spirit."
The list of examples could go on and on, especially as the newer deacons are eager to prove their skills as "church policemen" and demonstrate their spiritual superiority by getting people in trouble over the most trivial of matters.
Conclusion
In our observations of the recordings and based on our personal experiences, these meetings provide a revealing glimpse into the inner workings of the GDT Ministry Leadership. During these sessions, the leaders do most of the talking, often blending in gossip they’ve heard to see if they can unsettle the congregant and provoke them into revealing more. While some of their advice might occasionally seem reasonable (after all, even a broken clock is right twice a day), the real danger lies in the lack of accountability, their self-assumed final authority, the severe consequences for questioning their counsel, and the complete disregard for privacy.
Ironically, the GDT ministry leadership frequently complains about and resents criticism from church members. Perhaps if they engaged in self-reflection, examined the unethical and authoritarian practices of their ministry, and treated church members with respect and trust, they wouldn’t be criticized as much.
Ultimately, it is clear that the deacons do not have the best interests of the congregants in mind. They are constantly monitoring parishioners' movements, scrutinizing who they associate with, and what they do for fun. Their relentless focus on coercion, enforcement, and ensuring compliance with church rules creates an oppressive atmosphere reminiscent of a modern-day Gestapo. It’s dreadful and sad that church members have to live in constant fear, always watching over their shoulders, worried they might get in trouble for something as innocent as who they choose to fellowship with or having a harmless family night. How pathetic it is that the Golden Dawn Tabernacle/Tabernaculo Emanuel Ministry team is so insecure that they are easily offended by criticism, rather than taking the opportunity to reflect on why they are being criticized.
Simply put, this is not an authentic Christian ministry. Instead, it is an authoritarian regime that caters to the needs of one man, Pastor Isaac Noriega.
We urge the congregation to be cautious when approaching these meetings, as your privacy and best interests are at risk. Also, remember that a deacon does not have the right to investigate or interrogate you or your children without your consent.

I know far too many stories of deacons harassing people. Often crossing a line that if committed in the job market or in a public school setting they would be terminated and a restraining order placed on them by the police. No where! …absolutely No where! are deacons and deaconess referred to in The Holy Scriptures as policemen or enforcers etc. (the New Testament word diakonos simply means “servant”)
- In what ways do they serve? I have first hand knowledge of 2 local churches. Their deacons serve by providing manual services to the elderly, cleaning landscaping fixing around their houses, organizing service, caring for the needy not only the church but in the community, protecting unity during service is the closest thing to enforcement of church policy in the building and on the church grounds. The parents according to scripture have been given the highest authority over their children. GD people you are under the authority of North Korean Government policy. The deacon army has no right to interfere with your children or family members.

When I had made my decision to leave church, Rey woukd come over to my work and attempt to talk to me. He was always told by my supervisors to leave or that I wasn’t around. I finally called him after several attempts at “catching” me at work. He was calling to mention that someone had caught me doing something wrong, I knew who this person was. So I pressed him to name the one who had seen me. He would not give up any information. I finally told him to tell coke addict Sammy to stop worrying about everyone else and to fix himself. Rey seeing he wasn’t going anywhere with the conversation, continued to demand the names of the people I was talking to and hanging out with. At that point, I had noone on the inside who I was friends with due to me being seen as a person with a bad spirit It was forbidden for others to associate themselves with me. Last thing Rey said before I hung up on him was “This is the worst decision you’ll ever make, and you’ll regret it for the rest of your life”. It’s turned out to be quite the opposite.

It’s important that people understand these conversations happen with some form or another of coercion. They’re never fair. There is always a power imbalance. It really shows what cowards these men are, they would never actually face someone who disagrees with them and can’t intimidate.
But Rey definitely had favorites who he would treat well and those he would relentlessly target. It’s sad but he really drove a lot of boys to the brink.
The constant state of fear that comes with repeated reprimands that ultimately affect your reputation in church is so bad for you. Not even children are off limits to this type of treatment. It’s literally like them forcing you to behave or get shamed.
I remember one time when the church was about to make the move from the second sanctuary to the newly built third one, Isaac was going on and on about a “new generation” of deacons to replace the “old guard”. He named a bunch of young men he’d was considering for the position of deacon. Among them was Rene Agurrie jr. I remembered when he said that I was shocked. Mind you at this point I still somewhat believed the church doctrine. I couldn’t believe he had been selected because I had recently been working by him on a Saturday church cleaning sesh. He spent the entire time making fun of church members to my brother. I remember him making fun of one someone I was working with and close friends with at the time, making fun of his teeth. So lame Anyways when Isaac names him I was like no way he doesn’t care about the people. So after Isaac finishes naming all these people he says “ and if anyone has a problem with someone I mentioned and you don’t think he should be a deacon come talk to me”
So my autistic ass thought he was being sincere and so I went up to him at the church project and told him. I remember I told him I had a problem with one of his picks he said “ now I don’t want you to tell me that just because he’s gonna be deacon he need to meet some standard or something” 🤦♂️😭 no joke. So I told him about that time cleaning the church and he said he’d talk to him and get back to me.
So the next night Renne comes up to me as says it’s not true, and that he doesn’t remember it happening. And then to top it all off renne said I was a hypocrite because by going to Isaac I was doing the same thing I had accused him of. That Fkn wife beater😂 A little later Isaac calls me over and lays into me, the jist was and he said this out loud for everyone to hear “ who do you think you are to question”
Anyways I realized at that moment that it was never about putting competent people into those positions. It’s just yes men.

We grew up thinking behavior from these men like this was normal. Now that I look back I see how creepy it is. One of my many run ins with deacon Rey and the one I remember most clearly . Is the time he called me out of my class and told me that it had come to his attention that I was wearing blush/makeup. I said I wasn’t. He told me: so if I go get a wet paper towel and rub your face in it it’s coming up clean? I said: go ahead. And he just chucked and gaslighted me by saying that it’s ok to quit school at anytime. It’s not like they needed me there. I think of the sweet girls that still attend and still get this abuse on a daily basis. I know of many girls that are so bothered by Rey’s behavior. They have so much disgust and fear of him. Although they would probably deny it now because now it’s in the open, I remember all of our conversations. All of their complaints. All of their suffering and discontent. And I want them to know I’m still praying for you. I’m still believing for you. The women victims (mostly) had mothers who were victims of physical and mental abuse.

That’s why the cycle of abuse is only getting worse. GD members are experts at hiding their abuse. Just as I was an expert and protecting my abusive parents who both still there.
Deacons are just one layer of the problem. To me it’s the parents that allowed the deacons to play daddy as the main culprit.
As for Isaac I believe there is a special place for him. And he has an awful heart. If he’s what you think Godly men are supposed to be then you need to read the part on the Bible about the women at the well, the women who was supposed to be stoned, the man who cut off his ear, the men on the cross.. to name a few.

Do your research. Branham continuously lied in almost all of his messages, there was never any discerning of the hearts, or him under the cloud, or a pillar of fire over his head. And not one of his so calls prophecies actually came true. His prophecies he told were all “after the fact” prophecies. In other words he tells them that it happened after it happened. There was only one place Branham said he wrote down his prophecies and that was on a little yellow paper in 1933 where he wrote all his “prophecies” down. He said he had put that paper in a box and placed it in the cornerstone of his church. Well that corner stone was opened twice and there was no box and no prophecies found.
And if you believe the lie that angles came and took the box out of the corner stone, it still doesn’t matter because his prophecies were wrong.
Here is an example of one. Branham said he had a prophecy that president Roosevelt would take the world in to a world war(meaning WWII). But Roosevelt didn’t, hitler did. So that prophecy is false. And Branham always said if one of them is false to put a sign on his back that says he’s a false prophet. So there you go. William Branham was a false prophet.

Newspaper records of church gatherings and Branhams baptismal service in the Ohio river. Records from the United Kingdom where Branham supposedly saw and healed the king. Turns out every one of those accounts and more were all lies.
Branham was a liar and a money hungry scammer just like Isaac.

I remember back in the 90s how the deacons of the sister church in Buenos Aires faced the same dilemma and challenge between serving and respecting the brethren and serving and respecting the pastor and his needs and demands for dominance and control.
Over the years, it seems that the narcissism of the “pastor” has prevailed (I do not consider him a pastor; he doesn’t have the training, education, or dignity of an evangelical pastor. He is a cult leader). Through brainwashing in every sermon, he gradually gained control and dominance over the minds and lives of the believers.
Not long ago, I listened to one of his sermons from ten years ago. Clearly and openly, he exhibits his narcissism (he is older now, and his personality disorder has little restraint). His preaching is based on discrediting other ministers, undermining your rights, and taking ownership of everything that the Holy Spirit and your salvation represent. In reality, he has none of that; his only hope is that you believe him and support him in his demands and needs… all very sad and toxic.
I don’t see much hope when narcissism takes control of everyone and everything. It will make you sick; it will corrupt your values; it will dry up your soul; it will wear you out mentally and emotionally.
It’s like idolatry; literally, a man and his demands are worshiped instead of God.

Yeah that creep forces his wife and daughter, Reyna to wear stockings 24/7 and specific shoes to satisfy his disgusting lust. Felt bad for her sister but she married a piece of garbage…. I remember once in class he came in & asked a female classmate why she wasn’t wearing stockings. She said she forgot or something to that effect. He didn’t like it and told her it would be better if she did. She was like 15…. WTF! MAJOR CREEP!!!!!!!!!!

Isaac Noriega tells the people to respect the deacons, when he doesn’t even respect them himself. They are always getting yelled at and mistreated by Isaac Noriega.
So, if he mistreats them, so are the people.
He has called them “Hams” and “know it all’s” and “exaggerators”, he talks about the deacons all the time to people behind there back. Then he wants the deacons doing everything for him.
